While the United States is widely regarded as the global center of the modern call center industry, the Philippines seem to be hot on its heels. It appears that the rise of the Philippines in the call center world has been further highlighted by the announcement that Call Center Week is coming to the country. According to a regional publication Micetimes.Asia<\/em>, the country already has one of the largest call centers in the world, and it continues to grow. Call Center Week Philippines Makati will take place on December 2nd<\/sup> through the 5th.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the Call Center Week conference is to highlight ways in which companies can revolutionize call centers in the Philippines and around the world. Along with the announcement of the call center conference, the country has stated that it plans to increase its call center revenue to $15 billion by the end of 2016. This Call Center Week event will be the largest call center event in Asia.<\/p>\n

The conference will feature up to 15 speakers, most of whom understand the challenges of running and managing a call center business. One of the ways the country has made progress in the call center industry is by treating its call center employees better than neighboring countries do.<\/p>\n

In recent months, there has even been talk of allowing call center workers to unionize. Should this eventually happen, it would mean that workers would receive higher wages in the long run. The Philippines has also taken steps to guarantee higher wages for call center workers who work the \u201cgraveyard shift\u201d\u2014the late-night and early-morning hours\u2014to better serve overseas callers in different time zones. It stands to reason that initiatives like this are the very reason the Call Center Week event is coming to the country in the first place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
